Belarus, Pakistan seek to step up cooperation in sport, tourism

MINSK, 29 January (BelTA) – Belarus and Pakistan are keen to step up cooperation in sport and tourism. This was in focus of a meeting between Ambassador of Belarus to Pakistan Andrei Ermolovich and Pakistan Minister of Inter Provincial Coordination Fahmida Mirza, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Pakistan.

The parties discussed a draft memorandum on cooperation in tourism that establishes a legal framework for the development of cooperation in this area. Fahmida Mirza proposed drafting a joint action plan of the Belarusian Sport and Tourism Ministry and the Pakistani Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination.

Andrei Ermolovich invited Fahmida Mirza to visit Belarus in 2020. “Pakistan showed interest in studying Belarusian experience in administrative and legal regulation of tourism and sport as well as the country's relevant infrastructure,” the embassy noted.

Andrei Ermolovich handed Fahmida Mirza the list of the main international sports events due in Belarus in 2020 and the information about the Belarusian sports complexes and organizations that are willing to make their facilities available for Pakistani sports teams to train for international competitions.
