MINSK, 22 April (BelTA) – Strong and vibrant friendship between Pakistan and Belarus has translated into multifaceted cooperation, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Republic of Belarus Muhemmed Aejaz said as he spoke at an event dedicated to the National Day of Pakistan on 21 April, BelTA has learned.
“Let me acknowledge the strong and growing friendship between Pakistan and Belarus. Over the past three decades, our relations have translated into multifaceted cooperation based on mutual respect and common interests. The opening of the embassies in Islamabad (2014) and Minsk (2015), as well as the exchange of high-level visits, gave a significant boost to our interaction,” the diplomat noted.

In his view, the visit of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Pakistan in November 2024 and the recent return visit of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Minsk opened a new important chapter in bilateral cooperation.
“With over 100 memorandums and agreements signed over the last decade, our partnership spans manufacturing, agriculture, education, healthcare, science and technology, and defense. The recent meeting of the Economic Cooperation Commission reaffirmed our shared commitment to expanding interaction,” the Pakistani diplomat noted.
