Algeria’s ambassador calls for stronger economic cooperation with Belarus

MINSK, 10 April (BelTA) - Very strong political relations have developed between Belarus and Algeria, but when it comes to the economy, more work is needed, Toufik Djouama, Algeria’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia with concurrent accreditation to Belarus, BelTA has learned.

“Very strong political relations have developed between our countries, but in terms of the economy, we need to work more. I believe that the next meeting of the joint commission on trade and economic cooperation will give us an opportunity to improve our relations,” Toufik Djouama said.

The ambassador called the recent visit of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Algeria a very important chapter in the history of bilateral relations. “The Belarusian president held very trusting and substantive negotiations with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. This was a very important visit for our country, during which agreements were reached on further developing and strengthening relations with Belarus,” he emphasized.
