Aleinik arrives in Mongolia on official visit

ULAANBAATAR, 14 March (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik has arrived in Mongolia on an official visit, BelTA has learned.

Sergei Aleinik will stay in Ulaanbaatar on 15-16 March. He will hold negotiations with the country's leadership, his Mongolian counterpart, as well as with heads of government agencies and representatives of the business community. The bilateral meetings will focus on efforts to intensify bilateral cooperation in politics, trade and economy.

A big delegation from Belarus arrived in Mongolia beforehand. It includes heads of government agencies, industrial enterprises and representatives of the financial sector. They have already held several meetings with Mongolian partners where they have discussed promising areas of cooperation.

A reminder, the Belarus-Mongolia intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation convened in Minsk in January. The Mongolian delegation visited Belarusian industry flagships and agricultural enterprises.

The day before the trip to Mongolia, a Belarusian delegation led by the foreign minister visited India. According to Sergei Aleinik, the economic dimension topped the agenda of the meetings held in India.

The Government of India has ambitious economic plans. It seeks to implement large-scale infrastructure projects and promote industrial cooperation. The necessary conditions are created for this in the country. “This is the foundation on which we could build our trade and economic relations,” said the foreign minister.
