MOSCOW, 25 October (BelTA) - The agenda of the upcoming meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Belarus-Russia Union State includes about 20 issues, State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev said as he spoke at a meeting of the Business Cooperation Council between the governments of Belarus and Russia’s St. Petersburg on 25 October, BelTA has learned.
“We are at the historical stage which in a certain way summarizes the results of what has been done to implement the provisions of the Union State Treaty. The 25th anniversary of the document will be celebrated on 8 December 2024. The meetings of the Council of Ministers of the Union State and the Supreme State Council will be held before the end of the year. The agenda of the upcoming meeting of the Council of Ministers will be full,” Dmitry Mezentsev said.
In his words, the issues on the agenda of the Union State Council of Ministers will include the abolition of roaming charges and the setting up of a network university of high technologies of the Union State.
“A fundamental expansion of the system of ties is underway. The parties are successfully implementing regulatory documents that provide a fundamentally different scale of economic integration,” the state secretary added.
The system of humanitarian and economic ties that St. Petersburg has with Belarus is an example for dozens of Russian regions to follow, Dmitry Mezentsev said.
