Mandalika Circuit to host four global races in 2025

CENTRAL LOMBOK, 4 February (BelTA - ANTARA) - The Mandalika International Street Circuit in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), is set to host four international racing championships in 2025.

Director of the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA), Priandhi Satria, said the planned events include MotoGP, the Asia Road Racing Championship, the GT World Series Asia, and the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia.

During a focus group discussion in Mataram City, NTB, he noted that the circuit is also set to host domestic races and various non-racing events this year.

He highlighted that the MGPA requires support from the provincial and district governments as well as the private sector to facilitate people's access to the planned events, promote them, and make them a success.

Satria pointed out that in 2024, the MGPA organized a range of events for a total of 268 days at the international circuit, with the visitor count reaching 170,000, around 120,000 of whom were MotoGP spectators.

He then expressed optimism that the circuit's national and international exposure would help Lombok Island and NTB Province further polish Indonesia's tourism appeal, promoting it to a broader population globally.

Furthermore, he asserted that the MGPA remains steadfast in its commitment to contributing to the development of Indonesia's tourism sector by managing the Mandalika Circuit.

"The MGPA does not own the Mandalika Circuit, as this motorsport venue belongs to Indonesia. We must continue promoting the circuit for the benefit of the country," he concluded.
