MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) – Vietnam is interested in advancing cooperation with Belarus. The matter was discussed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Belarus Nguyen Van Trung met with representatives of Belarusian enterprises at premises of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI), BelTA has learned.
The interest of the Belarusian private sector in Vietnam is colossal just like the interest of the Vietnamese private sector in Belarus. This is why the mission of the current meeting was to identify concrete contact points, representatives of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry noted.
Nguyen Van Trung stressed that there is a great potential in economy between Belarus and Vietnam. “For the sake of reinforcing and advancing cooperation we are identifying the areas where we can be interesting and useful to each other. During today’s meeting I would very much like to hear out proposals of the Belarusian private sector, identify strong suits of the Belarusian economy where we could interact,” the ambassador noted.
He also stressed that the embassy intends to organize visits of Vietnamese businessmen to Belarus and suggested that representatives of Belarusian enterprises should visit Vietnam for the sake of getting familiar with the country’s trade and economic potential and for the sake of establishing business ties.
In turn, Deputy Chairwoman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Yelena Malinovskaya remarked that a trustful dialogue had been established between Belarus and Vietnam at the high level and the top one. The fact contributes to the advancement of the trade and economic relations.
“May 2025 saw General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam visit the Republic of Belarus. Within the framework of the visit a business meeting took place for the sake of promoting foreign trade tides, investments, trade, and tourism between Vietnam and Belarus. During the meeting agreements were reached on expanding the bilateral business cooperation, on exchanging delegations, and on developing direct contacts between the business circles of the two countries,” Yelena Malinovskaya said.
