MINSK, 22 October (BelTA) - Debt burden on Belarusian enterprises is at its lowest level over the past nine years, Belarusian First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov said during a joint sitting of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic in Minsk on 22 October, BelTA has learned.
"The active investment agenda did not affect the financial health of enterprises. The debt load has decreased, its level remains at its lowest levels over the past nine years. Profit from sales rose by 6.4%, net profit - by 8.4%. The share of loss-making organizations has dropped, the discipline of mutual settlements has been improving, the share of bad debts in the total debt is decreasing," Nikolai Snopkov said.
On the instruction of the head of state, the government has been working to build up the industrial potential of the regions, launched the One District, One Project initiative. "This year, we are implementing 208 projects that will create more than 10,000 jobs. Almost half of all districts will have two projects, every tenth district will run three projects. Dzerzhinsk District of Minsk Oblast is implementing six projects simultaneously," Nikolai Snopkov said.
