
MINSK, 20 September (BelTA) - Belarus has long prioritized building an innovation-driven economy and integrating high technologies into all sectors, Belarusian First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snopkov said during the opening ceremony of the Pujiang Innovation Forum in Shanghai, BelTA learned from the press service of the government.
"There are strong achievements in microelectronics, optics, and instrument engineering. Our scientific-production centers develop competitive, high-value-added products that are in demand on global markets," Nikolai Snopkov noted. "In biotechnology, relying on a robust academic foundation, we are actively implementing innovations in medicine and agriculture. Green technologies are a key component of our state policy.”

Nikolai Snopkov also read out a welcoming address from Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to the participants of the opening ceremony of the 18th Pujiang Innovation Forum.
The Pujiang Innovation Forum is one of China's leading international events in the field of innovation, held since 2008. Participants include policymakers, scientists, and business representatives. The forum focuses on pressing issues in entrepreneurship, finance, future scientific potential, culture, international innovation trends, and the prospects of economic and industrial technology development. It is organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. Belarus is participating in the forum as a guest of honor.
