MINSK, 26 March (BelTA) – Russia’s Omsk Oblast is interested in cooperating with Belarus in the construction field, Omsk Oblast Governor Vitaly Khotsenko said as he met with Belarus’ Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Parkhomchik, BelTA has learned.
According to the governor, the region is running many programs in the construction sector. There are plans to remodel schools, kindergartens, and dormitories of colleges and universities. “The project features 400 facilities and we must repair them within five years. We definitely don’t have enough resources to do that. Therefore, we will be very glad if your construction companies help implement these projects,” said Vitaly Khotsenko.
He also noted that a new airport is to be built near Omsk in the next five years, by 2028. Another major project is the construction of a flagship school in the region. This idea has recently been upheld by Russian President Vladimir Putin. “This will be a boarding school, there will be only 12 such schools in the country. We are ready to consider building this facility with a solid construction company,” the governor said.
