Increased economic cooperation between Belarus, Azerbaijan seen as natural 

MINSK, 12 June (BelTA) – Expanding trade and economic ties is natural for Belarus and Azerbaijan as the two countries have a lot in common, Chairwoman of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova said during a meeting with Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko in Minsk on 12 June, BelTA has learned 

Sahiba Gafarova noted that she is in Belarus at the invitation of her colleague, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova. "Our dialogue yesterday was very constructive. I think such communication is a must, because the visits of our top officials, their personal relations and the plans that were discussed require a parliamentary dimension," she said. 

According to Sahiba Gafarova, expanding trade and economic ties is natural for Belarus and Azerbaijan. "We have a lot in common," Sahiba Gafarova said. "Our countries not only maintain trade and economic relations but also develop them."

During the last visit of the Belarusian president to Azerbaijan, many documents were signed and many different areas of cooperation were considered. Sahiba Gafarova highlighted Aleksandr Lukashenko's visit to Karabakh which requires a restoration effort. "This gives us to think that Belarus will take an active part in its restoration," she added.
