MINSK, 29 October (BelTA) – The supreme audit institutions of Belarus and Brazil have signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation, the press service of the State Control Committee of Belarus told BelTA.
The document was signed on the sidelines of the 25th INCOSAI Congress (International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions) during a meeting between delegations of the supreme audit authorities of Belarus and Brazil. The memorandum provides for the exchange of information on the organization and working methods of supreme audit institutions, with a focus on sharing experience in monitoring the implementation of recommendations following control activities. It also includes the possibility of holding joint seminars on key issues related to control and auditing.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on Brazil’s recent INTOSAI chairmanship and expressed confidence in fostering fruitful cooperation and the need for practical implementation of the memorandum. Also, on the sidelines of the INCOSAI Congress, Chairman of Belarus’ State Control Committee Vasily Gerasimov met with the heads of delegations of the supreme audit institutions of China and Saudi Arabia.
On 29 October, the main event of the 25th INTOSAI Congress, the General Assembly meeting, began in Egypt. Delegations of supreme audit institutions (SAIs) from around the world are participating, including a delegation from the State Control Committee of Belarus led by Vasily Gerasimov.
The agenda includes plenary sessions on the main technical topics of the congress, speeches by heads of several SAIs, reports from INTOSAI regional organizations, and updates from active committees. The transfer of the INTOSAI chairmanship from the SAI of Brazil to the SAI of Egypt will also take place.
The INCOSAI Congress is the main event for the global audit community. The forum is held every three years and addresses the most significant and pressing issues in auditing and financial control.
