Belarusian, Korean experts discuss digital transformation of industrial enterprises

MINSK, 31 January (BelTA) – Belarusian and Korean experts have discussed subtleties of preparing recommendations for digitizing Belarusian industrial enterprises, the press service of the Belarusian Economy Ministry told BelTA.

The Economy Ministry arranged an online meeting of researchers of the Korea Development Institute and representatives of the Belarusian Industry Ministry.

The meeting was held as part of the 2021-2022 Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP) “Digital transformation of Belarus' economy: Implementation of the best practices of business and state cooperation in digital transformation of the industrial sector”. The meeting represented a new stage of the program: more profound consultations of Korean experts about the digitization situation in Belarus' real economy sector.

During the online meeting details were clarified for establishing relations between the Industry Ministry and Belarusian industrial enterprises. The Industry Ministry runs a system of 170 enterprises, including 64 state-owned ones. The details will be taken into account in the course of preparing quality and up-to-date recommendations on their digital transformation.

A number of South Korean experts took part in the meeting. The Belarusian Economy Ministry was represented by Head of the Innovative Development Sector of the Economy of Innovation Activities Office Yelizaveta Davelman. The Industry Ministry was represented by Head of the Informatization, Control, and Organizational Support Office Aleksandr Baranov and Deputy Head of the Central Office for Foreign Economic Ties, Head of the Department for Cooperation with Foreign Countries Anatoly Grinevich.

Participants of the meeting agreed to continue consultations by exchanging letters and questionnaires via the Economy Ministry as the agency responsible for implementing the project in Belarus.

The Korean side expressed interest in arranging such online consultations with other government agencies and organizations: the Communications and Informatization Ministry, the Education Ministry, the State Science and Technology Committee of Belarus, the Administration of the Hi-Tech Park. The events are expected to take place in February 2022.
