MINSK, 4 December (BelTA) - A Belarusian exposition called as Belarus. The Taste of Nature is featured at Food Africa 2024 in Cairo, Africa’s first and largest agrofood exhibition, BelTA learned from the Belinterexpo company of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI).
Despite the final month in the calendar, the world is buzzing with exhibition events and December is a symbolic boundary to the beginning of the new exhibition season 2025.
The international trade exhibition of food and beverages Food Africa in Cairo brings together about 1,000 exhibitors from more than 30 countries, including Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, China, Russia, Türkiye, Italy, Greece, France, Spain, Switzerland and Japan. Belinterexpo emphasized: Food Africa has deservedly gained the status of an exhibition brand over the years. It is an effective business platform that unites representatives of Egypt, Middle East, North Africa and foreign partners.
“Egypt is a major regional player interested in acquiring Belarusian goods and services,” Director of Belinterexpo Natalya Kurash said. “Thanks to cooperation with African countries and interaction with key industry companies within the framework of Food Africa Cairo, domestic enterprises have unique opportunities to promote business interests and expand their presence.”
On the first day of the exhibition the Belarusian exposition hosted the heads of Egyptian state bodies and agencies, including the Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade of Egypt. Among the first guests of the Belarusian exposition were Secretary General of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce Alaa Ezz, Chairman and CEO of one of the leading international exhibition organizations IFP Group Albert Aoun.
The Belinterexpo unitary enterprise of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a long-term partner of the IFP Group. According to Belinterexpo, the exposition Belarus. The Taste of Nature brings together a number of well-known enterprises of Grodnomyasomolprom Holding Company and flagships of the Belarusian food industry. The largest manufacturer of baby food and specialized products (for pregnant women and nursing mothers, athletes, middle-aged and elderly people, students) - Bellakt - is represented at the exhibition. At Food Africa Cairo the company will showcase a wide range of products, including infant formula, instant cereals, skimmed and whole milk powder, butter, coffee and cocoa-containing drinks, milk candies.
Porridge, instant cereals, cereals and rape seed products, fodder products and mixed fodder will be displayed by Smorgon Bread Products Plant. Lidakhleboproduct is set to feature bakery semi-finished products, complex bakery mixes, flour and cereals, pasta, premixes and mixed fodder. A wide range of products, including beef meat, cuts and beef by-products, canned products is on show by one of Belarus’ meat processing leaders - Volkovysk Meat Processing Plant.
Belarusian producers are taking part in business matchmaking meetings and negotiations with foreign partners and in workshops. "The participation in international exhibitions is one of the most effective tools to promote domestic goods to foreign markets and to increase exports,” Belinterexpo said.
Following the first day of the Cairo exhibition, Lida Milk Canning Plant and Minsk Dairy Plant No. 1 signed a number of agreements and contracts. For example, Minsk Dairy Plant No. 1 signed a contract with a large Egyptian company to supply skimmed milk powder and whole milk powder to the markets of Egypt, Kuwait and Yemen worth $1 million.
Trade show recovery has picked up pace, taking into account modern requirements and innovations. The number of participating countries is growing. December is a month of active preparation for the new year. The first large-scale exhibitions 2025 will kick off in February. These will include Gulfood in the UAE, AgriteQ Doha in Qatar, FOODEX in Japan. Food Africa in Cairo is the first on the way to the new exhibition season for Belarusian manufacturers under the auspices of Belinterexpo.

One of Belarus’ major dairy manufacturers, Minsk Dairy Plant No. 1, the managing company of the First Dairy holding company, has brought to Cairo skimmed milk powder, whole milk powder, whey milk powder; Lida Milk Canning Plant – whole milk powder, whey powder, casein powder, a range of cottage cheese, cheese and butter; Slutsk Cheese Factory – butter, ice cream and dry ice cream mixes.
