Belarusian Bellegprom eyeing South Africa market

MINSK, 2 April (BelTA) – The Belarusian state light industry concern Bellegprom is considering the possibility of shipping test batches of light industry goods to the market of South Africa. The relevant agreement was reached by Bellegprom representatives and representatives of South Africa's private sector during an online meeting, BelTA has learned.

Bellegprom Deputy Chairman Vadim Lamkov said: “We are interested in advancing cooperation with South Africa. I am convinced that fabrics of our flagship enterprises – Orsha Linen Mill and Kamvol – will interest the African side. Our key task is to study optimal logistics since South Africa is quite far.”

Representatives of major Belarusian companies such as Orsha Linen Mill, Kamvol, Mogotex, the footwear company Obuv Luch presented their manufacturing potential during the online meeting.

The event was organized by the trade and investment agency Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal (TIKZN), South Africa with assistance of the Belarusian embassy in South Africa.

The Belarusian state light industry concern Bellegprom comprises 74 organizations, including 59 industrial enterprises. The enterprises operate in textile industry, garment industry, knitwear goods industry, leather and footwear industry. Bellegprom products are shipped to over 50 countries.
