MINSK, 5 March (BelTA) – The Belarusian automobile engineering company BelAZ will modernize one of the main assembly shops, the company’s press service told BelTA.

This assembly shop manufactures haul trucks with the carrying capacities of 130-136 tonnes and 220-240 tonnes. These are some of the most popular carrying capacity ranges on the world market.

The shop’s reconstruction will allow increasing the output of these vehicles by a third.

The shop’s Manager Yevgeny Yerakhovets noted: “In the course of reconstructing and retooling the shop we will have to accomplish a number of tasks: we will have to install, startup and commission a new painting complex, upgrade the conveyor belt and refit a section of the material input system, replace all the load lifting cranes, introduce a computerized system for managing manufacturing processes and other things.”

The public joint-stock company (OAO) BelAZ is the managing company of the holding company BelAZ. BelAZ is the world’s largest manufacturer of haul trucks and transport equipment for the mining industry and the civil engineering industry. BelAZ occupies about 30% of the world market of haul trucks with an extremely large carrying capacity. The company makes the world’s largest haul truck with the carrying capacity of 450 tonnes.
