MINSK, 10 December (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Uzbekistan Aleksandr Ogorodnikov met with Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Bobur Usmanov on 9 December, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Tashkent.
During the meeting, the parties welcomed the high intensity of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic and humanitarian areas. They highlighted a number of landmark visits, meetings and events in 2025 that confirmed the steady course towards further fruitful cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan both bilaterally and within various multilateral formats, in particular, the highly successful Days of Belarusian Culture and Cinema held in Uzbekistan on 4-5 November this year. The parties also held a substantive exchange of views on preparations for the visits and events planned for 2026.
Ambassador Aleksandr Ogorodnikov expressed gratitude for Uzbekistan’s high-level participation and constructive contributions at the 3rd Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security, held in Minsk on 28-29 October 2025.
The parties also expressed satisfaction with the growth in mutual trade, which has maintained strong momentum this year, largely thanks to the systematic work carried out by both countries. They agreed to strengthen comprehensive cooperation with a focus on furthering mutually beneficial trade and economic ties and achieving the targets set by the two presidents.
