Belarus, Uzbekistan discuss cooperation priorities in mechanical engineering

MINSK, 14 October (BelTA) – Belarus and Uzbekistan have discussed priorities for cooperation in mechanical engineering during the meeting between Belarusian Industry Minister Andrei Kuznetsov and a delegation of Uzbekistan led by Uzbekistan’s First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Ilkhom Norkulov, the press service of the Belarusian Industry Ministry told BelTA.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Industry Ministers of Belarus Leonid Ryzhkovsky and Denis Bakei, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Belarus Rakhmatulla Nazarov. The main topic of the meeting was to discuss the prospects and opportunities for implementing joint cooperation projects in mechanical engineering.

The Belarusian side emphasized the high potential of bilateral interaction and expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Uzbek partners. The priority areas include the development of industrial cooperation in agricultural engineering, supplies of engines and quarry equipment, and cooperation in machine tool engineering.

The participants of the meeting stressed the importance of strengthening industrial ties, introducing advanced technologies and jointly exploring new markets for products. The parties confirmed their interest in stepping up interaction and creating conditions for the sustainable growth of production and export of competitive mechanical engineering products of Belarusian-Uzbek origin.

The Belarusian Industry Ministry noted that the meeting was constructive and laid the foundation for the successful continuation of the negotiation process and the start of the practical implementation of joint initiatives.
