MINSK, 21 March (BelTA) - The Economy Ministry hosted the third round of web-based negotiations on a draft agreement between the governments of Belarus and the United Arab Emirates on trade in services and investment, BelTA learned from the press service of the Economy Ministry.
Taking part in the negotiations were representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Operations and Analysis Center and the Communications and Informatization Ministry. The round was the final one of expert discussion of the future international treaty.
The parties discussed issues of trade in services, investment, the procedure for resolving disputes, and the possibility of third countries joining the agreement in the future.
The parties reached a conceptual agreement on all key issues that had not been agreed upon until now.
Negotiations on the draft agreement have been underway since September 2023 on the basis of Resolution No. 509 by the Council of Ministers "On negotiations on a draft international treaty"of 2 August 2023.
