
MINSK, 26 August (BelTA) – Head coach of the Belarusian football national team Carlos Alos has named the roster for the opening fixtures of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, BelTA has learned.
The roster comprises 24 players:
Goalkeepers: Pavel Pavlyuchenko, Sergei Ignatovich, Fedor Lapoukhov;
Defenders: Aleksandr Martynovich, Kirill Pechenin, Zakhar Volkov, Sergei Karpovich, Vladislav Malkevich, Pavel Zabelin, Vadim Pigas, Yegor Parkhomenko, Vladislav Kalinin;
Midfielders: Max Ebong, Evgeni Yablonski, Nikita Korzun, Valery Gromyko, Nikita Demchenko, Maksim Myakish;
Forwards: Yuri Kovalev, Pavel Sedko, German Barkovsky, Trofim Melnichenko, Evgeni Malashevich, Poman Pasevich.
In the opening match of Qualifying Group C, the Belarusian national team will play against Greece in Piraeus on 5 September, and will face Scotland in Zalaegerszeg, Hungary, on 8 September. Denmark will also compete in this group. The winners of the 12 qualifying groups will advance directly to the final stage, while the teams that finish second will compete in playoff matches. The 2026 World Cup will be held in venues across the USA, Mexico, and Canada. For the first time, 48 teams will participate in the final stage of the global football tournament.
