Suvorov cadets from Minsk, Russia’s Ussuriysk exchange visits

MOSCOW, 15 April (BelTA) - A mutual exchange of visits between cadets of Suvorov military schools took place for the first time as part of developing cooperation between Belarus and Russia’s Primorye Territory in military-patriotic education, the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia told BelTA.

Ten cadets from the Minsk Suvorov Military School visited Primorye Territory, while twelve cadets from the Ussuriysk Suvorov Military School visited Belarus. The Russian partners organized a rich program for the Belarusian cadets: they toured the educational and training facilities of the Ussuriysk school, laid flowers at the Alley of Remembrance, visited the school museum, the Museum of the Ussuri Taiga, and the Primorsky Aquarium on Russky Island. A friendly mini-football match was also held between the teams of the Suvorov schools from Minsk and Ussuriysk.

In addition, the Minsk cadets visited the Consulate General of Belarus in Vladivostok. Consul General Igor Sokol told them about the work of Belarusian diplomats and the importance of preserving historical memory and traditions.

A similarly full program was organized in Belarus for the Russian cadets: they learned about the history and training facilities of the Minsk Suvorov Military School and visited the Khatyn Memorial Complex, the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War, and the Brest Hero-Fortress Memorial Complex.
