BREST, 24 October (BelTA) - The Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park has been granted guardianship over the habitats of wild plants listed in the Red Data Book of Belarus. Directives No.1954 of 2 October and No. 1964 of 7 October by the Kamenets District Executive Committee have been published on the National Legal Internet Portal, BelTA has learned.
Specialists discovered rare wild plants within the territories of the Korolevo-Mostovskoye, Pashukovskoye, Rechitsa, Belyanskoye, Dmitrovichskoye, Nikorskoye, and Mostovskoye forestries. They are habitats of: great masterwort, berula erecta, aruncus dioicus, melittis sarmatica, bromus benekenii, globeflower, greater burdock and platanthera chlorantha. The following species can also be found: dactylorhiza majalis, northern dragonhead, pulmonaria angustifolia, polypodium vulgare, polystichum aculeatum, and festuca altissima.
A special protection and land-use regime will be implemented in the habitats of these protected plants.
Both documents by the Kamenets District Executive Committee come into effect after their official publication.
