MINSK, 13 March (BelTA) - Atlant needs to keep up with the times and further develop its product lineup, Belarusian Industry Minister Aleksandr Rogozhnik said as Dmitry Kharitonchik, the newly appointed director general of Atlant, was introduced by Deputy Prime Minister Piotr Parkhomchik to the team of the company, BelTA has learned.

“Atlant is a landmark enterprise for our country. For a long time it was a monopolist in the market of household appliances. In recent years, the competition has become extremely tough. Assembly plants were established in the Russian Federation in free economic zones, including an enterprise in Uzbekistan. This happened very quickly. Probably, at some point we failed to assess what was going on around us. Now it is necessary to make certain conclusions in order to keep up with the times, to further develop the product lineup,” Aleksandr Rogozhnik said.

According to him, Atlant has a promising future. “Life does not stand still, and it is necessary to move forward,” the minister said.

The minister wished the new head of the enterprise every success and cohesion in the team.

Atlant is a well-known manufacturer of refrigerators, freezers and washing machines. The enterprise makes practical and reliable appliances meeting high consumer demands. The history of the plant dates back to 1959.
