Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus
MINSK, 12 April (BelTA) - The risen Christ revealed His love and care for every person and for all humanity as a whole, Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, said in a comment to journalists on the occasion of Easter, BelTA has learned.
“Christ is Risen! Dear brothers and sisters, with this joyful greeting we greet one another today. Joy fills the hearts of every person - the joy that came with the Resurrection of Christ,” said Metropolitan Veniamin.
The bishop noted that the greatest breakthrough in human history has taken place: the transition from evil to good. “The victory of good has triumphed,” he emphasized.
“Through the great feat of the Savior of the world, we have been granted wonderful opportunities to become better, more perfect, and kinder. The Savior of the world, risen from the dead, revealed His love and care for every person and for all humanity as a whole. And now we have the opportunity to enjoy these blessings bestowed by the Savior, while at the same time bringing joy to others,” said Metropolitan Veniamin.
“Our hearts are filled with joy and, at the same time, with gratitude to the Savior of the world,” the bishop added.
According to him, a deep understanding of the feast gives strength to overcome the difficulties, anxieties, and worries that sometimes arise in the modern world. The joy of the Lord’s Easter prevails over everything, conquers all, and points to the main goal of man: to be with God and to walk the path of salvation. Everything is now placed in God’s hands. The risen Christ testified: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me”.
“It is important that we, as people, wishing to benefit from the blessings bestowed by the Savior, draw upon these blessings and mercies with love, gratitude, and observance of the Savior’s commandments, and make our lives more beautiful, kinder, and more perfect,” said the Metropolitan.
The feast of Easter unites everyone, both the older generation and children, the bishop continued. Everyone becomes very close in a single impulse, characteristic of children and young souls: an impulse of joy and inspiration that Easter brings.
Metropolitan Veniamin wished believers that the joy of the feast would inspire them to all that is good and beneficial. “Bring this joy to those near and far. Share it in your workplaces, in your neighborhoods, and wherever you go during these holy days,” he said.
“And may the joyful greeting ‘Christ is Risen!’ accompany our lives during these 40 days from the Resurrection of Christ to the feast of the Ascension of the Lord into heaven. May we celebrate brightly and rejoice in the Risen Christ, for truly Christ is Risen!” Metropolitan Veniamin said.
