Lukashenko: West is disgruntled by failure of color revolutions in Belarus

MINSK, 30 July (BelTA) – The West is irritated by the fact that Belarusians thwarted color revolution attempts, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with senior local government officials to discuss topical social and political issues on 30 July, BelTA has learned.

The president noted that today Belarus is taking the heat in all areas of life: politics, diplomacy, media, public life, defense and history. “Someone really wants Belarusians to lose their identity forever and complete their journey as a nation, dissolve in the world. Reasons are many. Some Western partners are making territorial claims over Belarus trying to justify them with historical arguments. Others see a springboard for a new march to the east,” the head of state said.

Regardless of the interests of external players, the battle launched by them is a battle for values, Aleksandr Lukashenko said. “Our values do not fit into the system of the globalist world order, because they contradict and hamper the goals of those who intend to dominate in this system. We, Belarusians, do not seek this dominance; neither do most nations of the world. It is annoying that Belarusians are the keepers of peace, Christian traditions and, frankly speaking, healthy conservatism, that we are an example of inter-ethnic, inter-faith and social unity - everything that makes us, and any other state, sovereign and independent. They are especially annoyed by the fact that the technologies of the so-called color revolutions did not work with Belarusians,” the president is convinced.

The head of state noted that Belarusians withstood seven or even eight stages of the color revolution. “All that we have gone through are not spontaneous attacks, but a consistent and coordinated policy of the West,” he pointed out.

At the same time, Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that the experience of staging such a revolution in Belarus will come in handy for the authors of these technologies. “Now, having tested it on Belarus, they will fine-tune their concepts, theories and practices. They have realized that when certain conditions are in place, for example, like it was in Belarus, their plan does not work. Thus, they will need to come up with something else,” the president explained.
