MINSK, 26 December (BelTA) – Christmas is an everlasting symbol of the triumph of the mercy and kindness, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said in his message of greeting addressed to all Christians of Belarus celebrating Christmas on 25 December, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The head of state remarked that this holiday brings light and joy to Christian believers all over the world, symbolizes the hope of the mankind for a better, morally perfect life. “Today the day-to-day concerns and earthly worries fade into the background and our hearts get filled with faith and love,” Alexander Lukashenko emphasized.
“On this holiday we turn to the eternal values which lie at the heart of Christianity and celebrate the noble ideals of humanism through the love for our kith and kin, commitment to peace, justice, spirituality, and harmony,” the message of greetings reads.
