Distinguished Belarusians honored with state awards

MINSK, 11 November (BelTA) - Forty-eight representatives from various fields have been honored with state awards and letters of commendation from the Belarusian president. The corresponding decree and order were signed by Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko on 10 November, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

Orders, medals, and honorary titles were bestowed upon 35 workers from various enterprises and organizations. They are recognized for their long-term, fruitful labor, high professionalism, achievement of outstanding production results, merits in military service, and significant personal contributions in the following areas: implementing state policy in statistics, legal support for economic policy, upholding the law and strengthening public order, liquidating the consequences of emergency situations, improving the tax system, developing the agro-industrial complex, housing and utilities services, forestry, and library science, as well as for excellent achievements in forensic expert work, education, science, and culture.

The Order of the Fatherland 2nd Class was awarded to Vasily Svirid, Chairman of the Denschikov Agricultural Production Cooperative in Grodno District. The Order of Honor was conferred upon Tatyana Aksamit, Head of the Education Department of the Grodno District Executive Committee, and Oleg Lavrukhin, the Prosecutor of Minsk.

The Medal for Excellence in Military Service has been awarded to Vadim Raichenok, the defense attaché at the Belarusian embassy in Vietnam.

The Medal for Excellence in the Prevention and Mitigation of Emergencies has been awarded to four employees of emergencies services: Anatoly Gimpel and Nikita Kulgavenya, deputy heads of emergencies headquarters at the operational management centers of the Minsk and Minsk Oblast departments of the Emergencies Ministry; Kirill Pinchuk, head of the duty shift at the operational management center of the Republican Special Response Unit ZUBR of the Emergencies Ministry; and Sergei Shugayev, senior instructor-rescuer of Emergency and Rescue Unit No. 1 of the Kostyukovichi District Emergencies Department.

A large group of workers has been awarded the Medal for Labor Merits. Among the recipients are Igor Bazhko, a gamekeeper at the Novogrudok Forestry Enterprise; Svetlana Zaitseva, a chemistry and biology teacher at Secondary School No. 3 in Osipovichi; Aleksandr Nemirovich, a leading specialist in the seed production department of the Belsemena company; and Yelena Tsivinskaya, a milking machine operator at the Peskovtsy agricultural company in Lida District.

The Medal of Francysk Skaryna has been awarded to Aleksandr Kurbatsky, Head of the Programming Technologies Department at Belarusian State University, Sergei Poberezhny, Deputy Director of the O.V. Roman Powder Metallurgy Institute and Director of the separate structural unit Scientific Instrumentation, Yelena Strizhevich, Director of the Brest Regional Library named after M. Gorky, Vladislav Semashko, Head of the Research Laboratory at the Research Institute for Pulse Processes with an Experimental Production Facility.

The decree also conferred the honorary titles of the Republic of Belarus. 
The title of Honored Cultural Worker was bestowed upon Oleg Neroda, Leader of the exemplary amateur collective, the Peuniki Boys' Choir at the Brest City Center of Culture. The title of Honored Education Worker was conferred upon Galina Radoman, Director of the Snovskaya Secondary School in Nesvizh District. The title of Honored Agricultural Worker was awarded to Viktor Petrushkevich, Chairman of the Putrishki Training and Experimental Agricultural Production Cooperative in Grodno District. The title of Honored Customs Officer was granted to Aleksandr Valiyev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee.

The contributions of another 13 representatives from various fields have been recognized with a presidential letter of commendation. It was issued for long-term, fruitful work, including within the tax authorities and emergency services, significant personal contribution to the implementation of state policy in the field of statistics, participation in projects for the construction of the National Football Stadium and an international-standard swimming pool, as well as contributions to the nation's gas infrastructure development, high professional performance, and substantial achievements in professional and official duties. The recipients include Irina Bondarenko, Head of the Main Directorate of Labor Statistics at the National Statistical Committee, Yelena Tratsevskaya, Head of the Dzerzhinsk District Inspectorate of the Tax Investigation Committee, Tatyana Baranova, Head of the Medical Support Center for the Republican Special Purpose Unit ZUBR of the Emergencies Ministry, Sergei Kokhan, a fitter servicing and repairing gas-utilizing equipment for the Slutsk Production Department of the Minskoblgaz enterprise, Ivan Belchik, Head of the Main Directorate for Economic Integration at the Economy Ministry.
