MINSK, 31 December (BelTA) – The European Union's unfriendly policy against Belarus is backfiring on its member states, Belarus' Information Minister Vladimir Pertsov said in the Editors' Club program on the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.
“Another conclusion of this year is a so-called boomerang of justice. All things they directed against us in politics and economics have boomeranged, sometimes in a multiplied amount,” said Vladimir Pertsov.
He recalled regular calls of the official Vilnius to impose sanctions against Belarus, and now Lithuania suffers because of the decline of transshipment of Belarusian goods in its ports. China has also responded to the unfriendly actions of Lithuania.
“This will actually lead to the collapse of the Lithuanian economy. Okay, Belarus is tens, hundreds of millions of US dollars (they have practically finished economic relations with Russia long ago), but China, which has now launched a major blockade and, in fact, a trade war with little Lithuania. The same thing is in geopolitics and politics. Take a look what is going on in Poland. What will happen to big European states with new gas prices and a cold winter?” the minister said.
