Kuchma leaves Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine

MINSK, 28 July (BelTA) – Former Ukrainian president Leonid Kuchma will no longer take part in the work of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on resolving the situation in Ukraine's east, the UNN news agency informs citing the press service of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

Leonid Kuchma met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on 28 July. The Ukrainian leader thanked Leonid Kuchma for his work as the head of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG. “Your experience was most important and extremely useful. Your advice will always be welcome,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

Leonid Kuchma noted that over the past year the TCG resumed its activities and made great strides; important arrangements were reached. He added that he is ready to share his expertise and knowledge and to contribute to furthering the peace process in Donbass.
