Belarus, Zimbabwe hold first round of political consultations

MINSK, 12 October (BelTA) – The first round of political consultations of the foreign ministries of Belarus and Zimbabwe took place on 11 October, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Belarusian delegation was led by First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik, the Zimbabwean delegation was headed up by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade David Musabayana.

The diplomats discussed topical issues of the bilateral agenda, the current state and prospects for the Belarus-Zimbabwe dialogue, including at a high level, and the possibility of expanding the legal framework of bilateral relations.

The parties also charted out plans to promote cooperation in trade and investment.

The heads of the Belarusian and Zimbabwean delegations also exchanged views on interaction of the two countries in international organizations.
