MINSK, 17 September (BelTA) – A delegation of the Belarusian Industry Ministry is in Serbia on 17-18 September on a visit, representatives of the Belarusian embassy in Serbia told BelTA.
The delegation includes heads of Belarus' leading industrial enterprises and is led by Industry Minister Piotr Parkhomchik. The minister met with Serbia President Aleksandar Vucic on 17 September. During the meeting the sides reaffirmed the high level of Belarus-Serbia relations and mentioned there is potential for more advanced and deeper economic relations.
The Belarusian delegation also met with representatives of the Serbian government, the Economy Ministry, the Ministry of the Interior, and the Belgrade city administration.
State Secretary of the Serbian Economy Ministry Dragan Stevanovic mentioned the Serbian side is ready to implement projects that envisage the establishment of joint manufacturing enterprises. In turn, Serbian Minister of the Interior Aleksandar Vulin said Serbian specialists would like to get familiar with firefighting vehicles of Belarusian make and expressed interest in considering possibilities for the joint production of fire trucks in Serbia.
Belarus' industrial potential will be presented at the 88th International Agricultural Fair in the city of Novi Sad. Belarus and Serbia are expected to sign a memorandum of intent to set up an enterprise to assemble electric buses then.
