MINSK, 9 April (BelTA) – A delegation from Minsk Oblast led by Deputy Chairman of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee Denis Kurlenko is visiting Oryol Oblast of Russia to discuss cooperation in economy, education and culture, the press service of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee told BelTA.
Ahead of the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia scheduled for 25-27 June in Nizhny Novgorod, the delegation from Minsk Oblast met with Governor of Oryol Oblast Andrey Klychkov in Oryol.
Andrey Klychkov emphasized that Oryol Oblast is interested in cooperation with Minsk Oblast in such areas as manufacturing of high-tech products, power semiconductor devices, conveyor systems, soil processing, lifting and laundry equipment.
“Belarus and Russia have faced external pressure. Life itself pushes us to interact more closely, especially since Russia and Belarus are neighbors. We need to avoid competition and instead look for areas of common interest where we can complement each other. By instruction of Chairman of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee Aleksei Kushnarenko, we visited Oryol Oblast to identify these areas which will form the foundation of fruitful cooperation,” Denis Kurlenko said.
