MINSK, 5 July (BelTA) – At least 90% of machinery used by Belarusian agricultural workers was made in Belarus, Industry Minister Aleksandr Yefimov told reporters prior to the meeting on agriculture in Minsk on 5 July, BelTA has learned.

Enterprises affiliated with the Industry Ministry are ready to fully meet the country’s needs for agricultural machines. “This includes equipment for soil cultivation, forage procurement, post-harvest processing and storage of grain crops, just to name a few. We have machinery not only for planting and harvesting operations, but also for taking care of cattle, poultry, other types of farm animals. Thus, our country is fully provided with modern high-performance equipment, which is on par with the world’s best products, but is significantly more affordable to our agricultural workers,” emphasized Aleksandr Yefimov.

The Industry Ministry is ready to meet the needs of key partners and the Agriculture and Food Ministry in the necessary equipment.

At least 90% of agricultural machinery, including tractors and combines, was made domestically, added Aleksandr Yefimov. “Thus, when our country faced certain pressure, our farmers were not left without equipment and spare parts. There were no disruptions in agricultural operations, since Belarusian companies have been using domestic equipment for a long time. The synergy between the two ministries has helped to ensure Belarus’ food security,” he emphasized.
