Medical products to be registered only to EAEU rules after 1 January 2022

MOSCOW, 6 April (BelTA) – Starting from 1 January 2022, only the rules of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will be applied to the registration of medical products. The registration to national rules will be applied until 31 December 2021. This decision was made by the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) on 5 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

The EEC Council approved amendments to the agreement on common principles and rules for handling medical products and medical equipment in the EAEU dated 23 December 2014. “The document has been sent to the EAEU countries to complete the domestic procedures necessary for its signing. The amendments provide that medical products registered to national regulations of one of the EAEU states can be used on the territory of this state until the expiration of the national registration certificates. Medical products having a national registration certificate with a limited period of validity can be re-registered until 31 December 2026 with the issuance of indefinite national registration certificates. Amendments to the registration dossier of a medical product to national rules can be made until 31 December 2026,” the press service noted.
