MOSCOW, 26 April (BelTA-TASS) – Oil in the Druzhba pipeline was intentionally polluted via a privately-owned terminal. The terminal takes oil from several small producers, Transneft's spokesman Igor Demin told media.
According to the source, Russian law enforcement agencies have opened a criminal investigation into polluted oil. The first results indicate that oil was intentionally polluted. Investigation actions are in progress in offices of several private companies in the Russian city of Samara to determine their involvement in the wrongdoing. “We can say with certainty that organic chloride pollutants have been injected via a metering station owned by the private company Samaratransneft Terminal, which takes oil and analyzes its quality from several small producers,” Igor Demin said.
