MINSK, 3 April (BelTA) - Individuals in Belarus remain net sellers of foreign currency. In March, they sold $174.5 million more than they bought, BelTA learned from the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).
Belarusians bought the equivalent of $1.229 billion in cash and cashless forms and sold $1.404 billion worth of foreign currency.
The commercial entities, by contrast, were net buyers of foreign currency. They bought $440.6 million worth of currency, which is more than they sold over the month. In March, legal entities bought $4.075 billion worth of foreign currency, sold $3.634 billion.
In January-March 2026, individuals sold $414.6 million net worth of foreign currency (compared to $48.9 million in the same period of 2025), while the net purchase by legal entities amounted to $556.4 million (in January-March 2025 $669.7 million).
