MINSK, 4 November (BelTA) – Chairman of the Belarusian State Concern for Oil and Chemistry (Belneftekhim) Ilya Ikan told reporters about the main tasks the head of state set for him while approving his candidacy as Belneftekhim chairman, BelTA has learned.
“The head of state is well-informed about the tasks the concern is performing and the results it has achieved. Of course, one of the main tasks is to maintain momentum in today's rather challenging environment,” Ilya Ikan said.
According to him, much attention will be paid to exports, namely, to reclaiming those markets where, for some reasons, the sale and promotion of Belneftekhim products experienced a setback.
As far as the domestic market is concerned, it is necessary to focus primarily on cutting costs and setting optimal prices for the products of the concern, as well as to promoting the development of the concern, Ilya Ikan remarked. “Investments are top on the agenda, as they will help us offer competitive products going forward and enable us to cut costs. These are rather complex tasks. The country, the budget, and the industry as a whole are waiting for the results,” he added.
