Belarus to export up to 1.2bn kWh of electricity to Ukraine in 2021

MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) – About 1.1-1.2 billion kWh of electricity will be exported to Ukraine this year. Director General of the Belarusian industrial group Belenergo Pavel Drozd made the relevant statement in BelTA's press center on 20 December.

Pavel Drozd said that Belenergo exported electricity to Ukraine in 2021 taking into account technical capabilities of the Belarusian power grid and the Ukrainian one. Electricity is mainly exported in autumn and winter. About 1.1-1.2 billion kWh of electricity is expected to be exported to Ukraine this year.

Speaking about next year's arrangements, Pavel Drozd said that there are framework contracts, which are discussed every month. The official said that electricity trade will depend on its profitability for Belarus and Ukraine.
