MINSK, 16 May (BelTA) - Heads of the customs authorities of Belarus and Azerbaijan Vladimir Orlovsky and Shahin Baghirov signed a protocol on mutual application of electronic systems of certification of origin of goods, BelTA learned from the State Customs Committee of Belarus.
Electronic systems of certification of origin of goods are developed to ensure the possibility for the customs authorities of the country of importation to carry out verification of certificates, information about which is declared at the declaration, without the need for the subjects of foreign economic activity to submit these certificates in the original hard copy.
“The implementation of the provisions of the protocol will contribute to the simplification of international trade, will increase the efficiency and reduce the time of customs control. This, in turn, will promote trade between Belarus and Azerbaijan,” the State Customs Committee said.
