BAKU, 16 May (BelTA) - Belarus and Azerbaijan have agreed on the equivalence of food security systems for meat and dairy products, Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Sergei Bartosh told reporters on the sidelines of the Belarus-Azerbaijan summit in Baku, BelTA has learned.

Thus, Belarusian enterprises will be able to increase food supplies to the Azerbaijani market. "This will contribute to the growth of counter deliveries and trade," Sergei Bartosh added.

Following the talks between the heads of state, protocols were signed on amendments to intergovernmental agreements on cooperation in veterinary medicine and in the field of quarantine and plant protection. The documents will allow the competent authorities of Belarus and Azerbaijan to strengthen cooperation in exercising veterinary control, to improve protection against the penetration and spread of contagious animal diseases and dangerous products in the territory of the two states, and increase quarantine safety.
