MOSCOW, 2 October (BelTA) – The advancement of manufacturing cooperation in the field of making microelectronics products in the Eurasian Economic Union was discussed in Minsk at a roundtable session involving Deputy Director of the Industrial Policy Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission Vitaly Vovk, representatives of authorized government agencies and about 30 top manufacturers and designers of microelectronics from the EAEU states, the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission told BelTA.
Prospects of the microelectronics manufacturing complex within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union were discussed. Close attention was paid to using the mechanism designed to finance manufacturing cooperation.
Vitaly Vovk remarked that the main goal of industrial development in the Eurasian Economic Union is to realize the potential for efficient and mutually beneficent cooperation between the EAEU member states with a view to ensuring sustainable industrial development, competitive ability, and innovative activity for the sake of achieving technological sovereignty.
Manufacturing cooperation in the field of microelectronics is fundamental because this industry has a considerable impact on a broad range of economy branches and secures the scientific and technical leadership of countries and companies, the competitive ability of products, and the efficiency of business, the deputy director of the Industrial Policy Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission stressed.
The roundtable session was organized by the Industrial Policy Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission in association with the Belarusian Industry Ministry.
