MINSK, 2 May (BelTA) - Sacred relics of great martyr and healer Panteleimon will be brought to Belarus from Mount Athos in 2019 (for the period from 7 to 17 September), BelTA learned from the website of the Belarusian Orthodox Church.
The relics will be delivered to Belarus to commemorate the 550th anniversary of the appearance of the Icon of the Mother of God of Zhirovichi, the 500th anniversary of its miraculous discovery and the 500th anniversary of the Dormition Monastery in Zhirovichi to be marked in 2020.
A delegation of the Belarusian Exarchate visited St Panteleimon Monastery on Mount Athos to discuss the delivery of the relics to Belarus.
