Polish embassy refuses to accept Tomasz Szmydt’s documents

MINSK, 17 May (BelTA) - Polish dissident, judge Tomasz Szmydt told the media that the Polish embassy had refused to accept his package of documents, BelTA has learned.

“I wanted to give the consul my documents addressed to the Ministry of Justice and to the Prosecutor General, and also a letter to the Ombudsman with regard to the fact that the Polish government has violated a number of laws and the Polish Constitution, and also international laws, including the Convention on Human Rights. But it turned out that the consul cannot accept these documents, that he cannot talk to me. I asked him whether the Polish authorities, Minister Sikorski, for example, had prohibited him to do anything like this?”. He turned his back on me and entered the elevator,” Tomasz Szmydt said.

“I could do nothing but drop them in the mailbox. It was not an easy task as the mailbox was locked. Nevertheless, I somehow managed to put them in,” Tomasz Szmydt added. “I do not know what response I would get from the Polish government. I am afraid they will throw them into the bin and that is it.”
