MINSK, 18 May (BelTA) - Russian Minister of Sport Mikhail Degtyarev has congratulated the head of the Belarusian National Olympic Committee Viktor Lukashenko and Sport and Tourism Minister Sergei Kovalchuk on the Physical Education and Sport Workers Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation.
"Belarus has given the world many talented athletes who have entered their names in the annals of the sports glory of the Fatherland. It is gratifying that the Republic of Belarus is committed to the true values of the sports movement, remaining open to new prospects and dimensions of international sports cooperation, including in the Union State.
I am sincerely convinced that Belarus’ sports leadership, national public organizations, coaches and industry specialists will continue to contribute to the country's outstanding sports achievements. I look forward to the further development of relations between Russia and Belarus in physical education and sport, sports exchanges, joint competitions and infrastructure projects.
