Polish judge: Lukashenko has done a lot to keep peace in our region

MINSK, 6 May (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has done a lot to keep peace in our regions, Polish judge Tomasz Szmydt told a press conference in BelTA’s press center on 6 May.

“This is a man who has put in a lot of effort to make sure that our region is calm and stable, including its political situation,” Tomasz Szmydt said. “Belarus is a kind of link with the East, Russia and is a major element of stabilization in the region.”

“This is also a kind of a signal to the authorities in Warsaw that they should resume dialogue with the neighbors,” the Pole said talking about why he turned to Belarus for help.

Tomasz Szmydt is a judge of the 2nd Department of the Voivodeship Administrative Court of Warsaw. Previously, he held various positions in the Polish judiciary and justice system. He was the head of the legal department at the National Council of Judges of Poland.

Due to disagreement with the policy and actions of the authorities, he was forced to leave Poland and is currently in Belarus. He was persecuted and threatened for his independent political position.

Tomasz Szmydt declares his protest to the Polish authorities who under the influence of the USA and the UK are leading the country to war.
