MOSCOW, 6 May (BelTA) - State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Dmitry Mezentsev attended the presentation of Gomel Oblast at the VDNKh exhibtion center in Moscow on 6 May, BelTA has learned.
Dmitry Mezentsev was asked about the main areas of Union State budget spending. He recalled that this year, by the decision of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin, the budget of the Union State was increased by 38%. "The ministries and departments, the governments of the two countries took this as a special sign of support for integration work," he said.
"We are committed to working in space, microelectronics, electronics, and the automotive industry," Dmitry Mezentsev said, answering a question about the main projects that are being implemented in the Union State.
According to him, the Healthcare Ministries and the Academies of Sciences of Belarus and Russia are currently working on the Biomembrane program of the Union State. It will fundamentally increase the effectiveness of drugs prescribed to patients. One of the new programs of the Union State is about the development of domestic software.
Dmitry Mezentsev also said that in response to the growth of security threats, the Union State had to adopt three new programs in the field of defense. Two of them are aimed at improving the group of troops of Belarus and Russia. The third program concerns the improvement of border security of the Union State.
