MINSK, 22 January (BelTA) – Skier Hleb Shakel will be a flag-bearer of the Belarusian team at the closing ceremony of the 2020 Winter Youth Olympics in Lausanne, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Olympic Committee of Belarus.
“Participation in the Winter Youth Games is a great experience for me. We tried to show our best in Lausanne. The competitions were organized at a very high level. I hope that the Games will help me get ready and qualify for the FIS Nordic Junior World Championships 2020. I am happy to represent our country at the closing ceremony and be a flab-bearer of Belarus,” Hleb Shakel said.
The closing ceremony of the 3rd Winter Youth Olympics will take place in Lausanne on 22 January.
Belarus won two medals in Switzerland. Ilya Korzun claimed gold in the 3-on-3 ice hockey, Yulia Kovalevkaya secured bronze in biathlon.
