MINSK, 11 February (BelTA) - Iryna Shymanovich of Belarus and Romania’s Irina Bara have advanced to the Oeiras Ladies Open doubles quarterfinal in Portugal, with a prize fund of $115,000, BelTA has learned.
In the opener, the Belarusian-Romanian pair defeated Cho I-hsuan / Cho Yi-tsen from Chinese Taipei in two hours, 7-6 (8-6), 6-3, 14-12. Earlier, in the singles first round, world number 154 Iryna Shymanovich defeated France’s Carole Monnet (World No.179) in three sets, 5-7, 6-2, 6-2. Today, in the round of 16, the Belarusian will face Dutch Suzan Lamens (World No.111).
The tournament in Oeiras will be over on 15 February.
