MINSK, 1 August (BelTA) - FC Neman Grodno have progressed to the third qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League, while Torpedo-BelAZ Zhodino and FC Dinamo Minsk have concluded their European campaigns, BelTA has learned.
In the second leg of their second qualifying round FC Neman Grodno drew 1-1 with Slovakia's FC Košice in Szeged, Hungary. Both goals came late in the match - Oleg Evdokimov opened the scoring before Michal Domik equalized. The Belarusian team had secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory in the first leg. FC Neman Grodno will now face Faroe Islands' KÍ Klaksvík in the next round. Earlier, they eliminated Armenia's FC Urartu (2-1, 4-0) in the first qualifying round.
Meanwhile, FC Torpedo-BelAZ suffered a 0-3 defeat to Israel's Maccabi Haifa in Kisvárda, Hungary. The Zhodino team conceded twice early. Despite creating chances, Torpedo failed to capitalize. A late counterattack sealed their fate as Trivante Stewart made it 3-0. After a 1-1 first-leg draw, Maccabi advanced to face Poland's Raków Częstochowa. Torpedo had previously defeated North Macedonia's FK Rabotnički (3-0, 1-0) in the first round.
FC Dinamo Minsk fell 0-1 to Albania's KF Egnatia in Rrogozhinë. Following a 0-2 first-leg loss, Dinamo exited the competition. Egnatia will next play Slovenia's Olimpija Ljubljana, who eliminated Andorra's FC Inter d'Escaldes (4-2, 1-1). Dinamo had begun their European campaign in Champions League qualifying, losing to Bulgaria's Ludogorets Razgrad (0-1, 2-2).
The third qualifying round fixtures will take place on 7 and 14 August. Teams must clear four qualifying rounds to reach the group stage.
