MINSK, 25 June (BelTA) – Fans will get a chance to meet with Belarusian medalists on Belarus Day at the main fan zone of the 2nd European Games near Sports Palace in Minsk, Pavel Korenevsky, a leading specialist at the ceremonies and cultural program department of the Minsk European Games Organizing Committee (MEGOC), told the media, BelTA has learned.
“Our people at the fan zone are asking when they will be able to meet with our medalists of the 2nd European Games. We will do our best to bring Belarusian medalists to the fan zone near Sports Palace on 30 June. Everyone will be able to take photos with them and thank them for their successes,” Pavel Korenevsky said.
The residents and guests of Minsk are invited to attend Hungary Day on 25 June. Hungary's Szalonna and lead singer Pal Istvan will perform at the event. “We invite everyone to come at 20h00 to learn something about the Hungarian culture. The embassies of the countries participating in the games present their traditions at this fan zone. For example, Azerbaijan Day featured musical instruments, national costumes, and famous Azerbaijani carpets. It is really important for MEGOC that the embassies took this idea very seriously and make gifts to the people of Minsk on a daily basis,” the expert said.
On Wednesday, 26 June, a concert at the main fan zone will feature the Zhinovich National Academic People's Orchestra of Belarus, Khoroshki Dance Company, Alexander Solodukha, Max Lorens and Charovnitsy pop group.
Performers on 27 June will include Palladium Electric Band, Jazz City Bаnd and DeTroit. The fan zone will host Turkey Day with the presentation of the history and cuisine of Gaziantep Province and the performance of Eray and Gasmek.
Latvia Day on 28 June will feature Svyata folk band, Olga Plotnikova, Aleksandra Gaiduk, Usari, and Latvia's Carnival Youth.
Russia Day on 29 June will include the performance of Inna Afanasyeva, DJ Shane and the Belarusian Dance Sport Association.
Belarus Day on 30 June will feature Chisty Golos band, Yagorava Gara, Palats, Anatoly Yarmolenko and Syabry Band, DJ Magic Sound, DJ Gleb Glebov, DJ Shane and the live broadcast of the closing ceremony of the 2nd European Games.
The fan zone near Sports Palace will stay open from 10h00 to 24h00 through 30 June, and until 4h00 in the morning on the closing ceremony of the games.
Minsk is hosting the 2nd European Games on 21-30 June. Over 4,000 athletes from 50 states are competing in 15 sports.
